Kelen is engineered as an offline-first laboratory. We do not require account creation or personal identity verification. Your tea brewing records, flavor profiles, and sensory data are stored strictly on your local device.
- No email address or phone number is collected.
- No social media integration or cloud syncing is performed.
- No location tracking is active within the application.
How We Use Data
The data you input—brew temperatures, infusion times, and taste notes—is used exclusively to generate your personal Flavor Atlas and brewing statistics. This analysis happens on-device and never leaves your local environment.
Device Permissions
To provide a full sensory journal, Kelen may request the following specific access points:
- Camera: For capturing visual records of tea leaves and liquor.
- Photo Library: To import existing images of your tea collection.
- Storage: To save your persistent brewing database locally.
Data Security
Because your data is not stored on our servers, its security depends on the security of your device. We recommend utilizing device-level encryption and regular backups of your local storage.
US Compliance
We comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) by not collecting any data from any user, including children under 13. As an offline utility, we do not fall under traditional data broker categories of the CCPA.
